I have added a 1967 W100 114" wheelbase Utiline pickup to my Kempner Power Wagon Museum collection of "Flat Fender Power Wagons" so I have a lot to learn.
In the last year, I have bought a 1965 D100, a 1966 D100, and a 1970 W200 for parts that I will use on the refurbishment of my 1967 W100. The three "parts trucks" were all long bed, Sweptlines. The W200 is driven daily. The 1966 D100 with a slant six is drivable.
My "Sweptline" experience is limited. Coming to the Sweptline Forum from "Power Wagon" forums means I have to remember that some threads are about the serious, go anywhere Power Wagons, and some are about the shiny, "Friday night at the drive-in" two-wheel drives. Then there are discussions about "straight" motors (no moral judgment intended) and motors in which the pistons go both ways - to the right and to the left. (No political judgment here either.) I may never figure out why there's no "Utiline" forum.
I have been reading all of each thread in my effort to learn all I can. What I have learned from this thread that "Gordo" is putting a 1971 Sweptline on e-bay with the expectation that he will get $2,200.00 to $2,600 for it. I don't know if I met Gordo at any of the Power Wagon rallies I have attended, but his having a Power Wagon makes that possible. I have learned from the description of his truck that is has the capacity to carry a large camper. The picture shows wheels original to a W100 or W200. I must believe that he wouldn't overload a W100 with a 10' camper so his truck is a W200.
48 hours ago, he said he was going to list it on e-bay. The price of the paint job he described was almost the whole price of the truck. That makes me wonder about the real value of the basic truck. I would expect a few more pictures in any ad he placed - e-bay, craigslist, etc. - to help me asses the truck's value.
I'm still in a Sweptline buying mood. There is no 1971 Power Wagon or 1971 Sweptline on e-bay. I also hoped to find the truck advertised on e-bay so I would know where it is. Location! Location! Location!
I’m still learning, so be patient with me.
