Hi Paul!
In the DTA Photo Albums and in some posts here, I refer to the Sweptline "Era". There are several opinions out there that Dodge never intended for these trucks to be called Sweptlines (I'm not sure if they never patented or copyrighted the name, which may allow web sites to use it).
Eventually "Sweptline" shows up in brochures, as the bed name in the late 50's, however no Dodge truck bed had the "TRUE" 'sweptline' beltline and bedside design swoop until 1961. That cab side and bedside beltline, or "sweptline", ended in 1971, which defines the Era of the Sweptline trucks.
Utiline, being a bed type, continued in the 61 to 71 Era, but the Cab still had the Sweptline "beltline", so the name stuck.
Note, in 1972 Dodge did call the new truck, "Lifestyle".
