Keep in mind that if you overheat the springs, you may ruin them by going too far and end up riding around on the oil pan.

Aren't the springs on top of the front 2WD axle? (spring over) If so you can make a custom spring perch and use a spring under method to drop the front the distance of the axle thickness, which is about 2.5 inches.
Keep in mind, that any ride height change will also change your steering geometry, alignment and shock length requirement.
That requires steering arm and caster adjustments to maintain safe steering geometry.
