Well... honestly no I haven't. Yes I do a a tester, but. This truck was owned by Norm Strung the writer/editor for 'Field & Stream'and other books and magazines. After his passing a dozen or so years ago, it has been mistreated and abused in the worst ways. MY first impressions from taking care of it and from what I've seen and been told. Ya'know, like three kinds of mismatched spark plugs, eating through quarts of oil, bad/made up plug wires, all that kind of crap. Not to mention the lack of oil and sh*tty low grade brands used. There are three other people that borrow it, but none know how to keep an old beast moving with care.
I've tuned it, more than a few times. I've rebuilt the carb years ago to where she'll start every time summer or at 30 below. Now THAT part is awesome. Rarely have to plug it in except when 40 below for days or windchill added. Rebuilt the hydraulic pump for the plow, an odd thing, using copper washers and such, and it keeps on going. A jury rig of a plow but works.
I suppose I could redo the heads or find some in a yard here in Montana quite easily. The way this thread is going, maybe I just oughta find an exact replacement and do a rebuild on it. (MoparNorm, your own thoughts.) I just know I am going to worry about the clutch here soon.
