Small rant about the new TV commercial for the 2009-2010 Dodge Ram pickups. Do they not know about the one's from 1961 to 1985 or is it that since they are under new ownership, everything is "new?" z z 62 crewcab.jpg //

I heard that commercial last night and wondered about that too. I wondered why they didn't say that they were the first with a crew cab and now have a new, better, yada yada yada ( add your own line here, LOL.
I may be wrong about being the first, but I can't think of any others being offered by the manufacturer before 1961, when the first Dodge crews were offered.

International, Volkswagen and Jeep all had crew cabs before Dodge. Dodge crew cabs were also not built in the factory in 61 and 62.

I didn't say that they were built in the factory, I said that they were offered by the manufacturer. They were sold by Dodge dealers even though the frame work was farmed out. Didn't the ones you mentioned have a very short bed to make room for the extra doors, like some of the new vehicles? I'm pretty sure that that's the way the VW was. I don't really consider those to be trucks.
