My '65 D200 has the "Deluxe" interior package that came with the remote heater control as shown in Ben's photo. My '66 W300 did not have the deluxe heater and that had a spigot type valve on the heater hose under the hood. The original valve looked something like a hose bib, which was siezed when I got the truck. I replaced it with a 1/2" ball valve (brass), so it

Is the 5" offset on both sides? If the 5" offset is apparent on both sides, could you have a dual wheel axle on the back? Jerry compensated for this on his W-500 by changing the wheel off-set, right Jerry?

Just my 2 cents, and remembering my time in Ridgway, CO with a D200/Poly 318; A normally aspirated engine will not perform as well as a turbo or super-charged engine ( i.e. 6BT) at your altitude. What about a turbo on the /6?

I'm sorry to hear about your wife and having to sell such a great car. I am very tempted to consider buying it as my first car was a '65 Fury I, 2 door sedan with 3 spd column shift, manual steering and a wide block 318. I had it through high school, college and beyond for better than 15 years and racked up over 150,000 miles on it. Bought it for $200; those days are gone.

For what it's worth; when I overhauled the 318 in my '65 D200, I put in an r/v grind cam, port matched the heads and manifolds and modified the stock cast 2 bbl intake to match a Holley 350 cfm 2 bbl. Basically I used a die grinder to port the openings at the base of the carb and opened up the passages. The truck has gobs of torque over the original set-up and the Holley is easy and c

I did a '68 or '69 100/200 cab to my W300 a few years back, from my rusty memory; 1. Needed clutch/brake pedal supports as the later years had a mechanical clutch vs. the hydraulic of the earlier years. 2. swapped firewalls because of clutch/brake M.C. mounts, the throttel linkage (pivot and rod on earlier and cabel on later) and the windshield wiper motor and linkage system. 3. The

Try www.springsnthings.com, they had all the bushings, pins, shackles, etc. when i did my '65 D200. They offered both rubber and polyurethane. If the link doesn't work, Google "espo".

I can look at the set of NOS drums I have, but they're at the other house and I won't be able to check for a couple of weeks. Let me know.

A while ago (about a year, or so) I posted a query with a problem of my 65 D200 having a "popping" in the exhaust. I did vacuum, compression and timing checks (all o,rebuilt the carb and bought/swapped a new ECU, with no change. Next I pulled plug wires 1 at a time and found 2 cylinders suspect. I repalced the spark plugs and checked resistance in the plug wires; it ran a little bette

I had similar experience at 3 dealerships when enquiring about a Challenger R/T. They had none in stock, couldn't tell me when their ordered ones would arrive and did not offer to order one for me. In addition, when i asked about test driving one when they finally get one in, they just about laughed and said they could not be taken for a test drive due to the "collectability" of

How are you doing Jerry? Thanks for the link. I'm seriously considering a mechanical locker for the rear of my W300 and an electric locker for my '08 Ram 2500. These fella's look like a good source for both.

My '65 and '66 have 18 gallon tanks per the service and Owner's manuals. I have a 22 gallon that came out of a '69 and was told that was an option. As for mileage, I'd think 17 or better but it all depends on gearing, driving style, auto/manual trans., weight, etc.

Norm, It was timed with a timing light, then I checked the vacuum. The vacuum gage was connected to read manifold vacuum, not the distributor vacuum (the distributor port). The last time I ran it, after I rebuilt the carb, it does not pop while idling, occasionally while holding a steady rpm above 900 and constantly while the engine is slowing down. I have not taken it on the road to see how

The ballast resistor checks ok and I've had the ignition switch problem on my '65 Fury in the past and this does not act that way. I am probably going to try ignition wires, and then the ECU and will update when I'm done,

The timing has checked spot on. My father-in-law suspects plug wires, even with the continuity check coming back ok. I'll update progress next weekend.

I did inspect it and there is no sign of carbon arcs inside or outside of the cap or excessive corrosion on the nubs inside. I've got a new spare that I'll try and update all after trying it.

My '65 D200 developed a problem while cruising a while back. There is a loud "popping" in the exhaust, especially when the engine is slowing down, but also periodically while cruising. I've run a vacuum check (all o, a compression check (all cylinders but 1 reading 125 psi, with the 1 low 1 reading 115 psi, but it's still within specs), the plug wires are showing consis
