Ok, so got into kind of an argument this evening. Synthetic oil or not in a 1964 318 motor. I was argued to not. I say yes and have used it for years, well Castrol half synth. Been putting it in for the past 20 years and have this NOT well taken care of engine running tops. Pulled the intake to decarbonize 4 years ago, eek a mess. She starts and runs....purrs like shes new. Ton of miles. I use th

Ok, so nothing really became of this issue of mine response wise other than pwrWgnDrvr. I solved this problem with a hack, not being able to come up with the proper motor. I ordered a similar motor, that is supposedly the proper one from RockAuto. It is not the correct one as they propose, as it is 1 inch too long. Everything else is copasetic though, wires, width and shaft size/dia. I built a ho

How much? I ordered one from Rock Auto for this exact truck and the mounting bolts are on the wrong end. Otherwise, it's fitment is perfect. I'm going to follow up with them, but thought I'd check with you in the meantime and order one from you. Do you have an email address. Thanks. Dan

Well the heater fuse problem is not. There is not one...at all. Pluged in a hot wire at the motor and got no rotation. So, I've got the motor here on the worktable and tested it out of the truck. Well it didn't go spinning off the table.....dead as a doornail. Pulled it apart for the heck of it and one of the brushes had burned. Gone. So does anybody have a good name of a supplier of

By any slim chance would anyone have a wiring diagram or PDF format. A slim chance I know, and also I know it would be small. Just a thought as well as it could be archived here in a permant post eh.

Thanks PwWgnDrve. No fuse block, hmm. Yes I was going to do a test wire from the battery as well, just was sure there would be a fuse for that kind of load. As a side note, what is the +12 wire. My manual has no wiring diagram.

Hi guys, question is I cannot find the location of the fuse for the heater, and I suppose as well as dash lights, etc. I know I must be blind looking for them, I just cannot. Need the defroster for the big storm coming in. TIA

Re: 1964 W-100 replace engine com'n up Posted by: JimmieD (66.81.198.---) Date: October 14, 2009 09:37PM The Poly flywheel works with the larger clutches, so you can bolt in just about any pressure plate for a truck up to what's called an 11" clutch. Your newer engine is the best of the LA's, a Magnum series. It should have the best fuel injection, MPFI as Multi-Point

Well... honestly no I haven't. Yes I do a a tester, but. This truck was owned by Norm Strung the writer/editor for 'Field & Stream'and other books and magazines. After his passing a dozen or so years ago, it has been mistreated and abused in the worst ways. MY first impressions from taking care of it and from what I've seen and been told. Ya'know, like three kinds of

ok, lil later here and through the snow. The crank on the newer engine does have a pilot hole. Looks to be about 7/8 inch and was packed entirely with nice fresh grease. Dan

Thanks guys for the quick response's. Much appreciated. The Engine is; V8 318-I “A” (polysphere), obviously for to say that. The trans is manual. Note taken on the motor mounts. Now, I don't know what the intake is other than whatever was installed factory. Regulator, would that be just getting one via NAPA or O'rielly here? After thoughts? I did either replace, or

Hi guy, Well its time for this good ole pickup to get 8 cylinder instead of 7. She has a vin #218 1343975 and been to New York and Mexico in her day a couple of times. I feel sorry for my landlord for the ride. New when they got her. I'm here in Bozeman, Montana and she pushes around the snow with a more or less home built plow someone put on 15yrs or so ago and with my help, I dredged her
