The Truck of The Week belongs to Bob. This 1971, D600 looks pretty sharp and looks ready to tow! It was originally a dealership retrieval rig, for a Chrysler Plymouth dealership in Hudson NY. Most of these trucks were used up and disappeared as scrap, this one however looks great!

As of today there are over 1700 signatures. Way fewer than I expected. I'm thinking the Petition needs 5-10,000 signers to even get on Chrysler's radar... If you haven't signed and would like Chrysler to offer more diesels in the US and Canada, please sign. These engines would also be available for Dodge trucks and eventually the aftermarket. The Truck of The Week, belongs to Nollie. It's a very nice looking 1971 D200 Camper Special. It looks like it's ready for a camper and a nice adventurous summer vacation!

The late model (wide tailgate) lenses can be very firmly mounted, but they are only stuck by time and a tight fit. Carefully pry at the top and bottom to loosen them (they can bend easily!) Then pry from the bottom, that tends to work better than prying from the top.

VPW used to have them. You can click on the Vintage Power Wagon link in the title block and also use the search feature to dig up discussions about these and cheaper import pans. Also try the "Easy Street" link in the tool bar.

My two cents worth, the NP203 is a stronger case than the NP208 and the 203 has more aftermarket support, although both are getting hard to find upgraded parts for as both are nearing 35+ years old.

Diesel Petition For several years, the VM Motori diesel division of Roger Penske (now owned by Chrysler/Fiat) has installed diesel engines in the US for export to Europe. The latest version is a 3.0 V6, lightweight, fuel sipping monster that gets 34 mpg highway and 28.3 mpg combined city/highway. This engine has 245 HP and 406 lb ft. of torque. More than the Cummins 5.9 had in 2003! Chrysl

QuoteRuss Hello Guys, I don't have a Sweptline anymore but I still like to lurk here sometimes. My bro-in-law took my old truck to a couple of the local shows there in LaFayette, Ga where he lives and took 1st place in the four wheel drive category. What's wrong with this picture? He's got two large trophies on his mantel and I have a parts pile in my garage. Now I know how Norm fe
