Looking trough my parts bin and I'm missing a wide tailgate, drivers side, hinge pivot. ( passenger side is pictured...and...yeah I've probably tossed a few over the years!) If anyone has one laying around, email me with the cost. Thanks!

QuoteGordo Norm there was never an issue. He is and always was a happy camper. Read his posts. What are you referring to as an issue? Gordo Not issues...ha! ha! His "issue" was his quest, information required and your help. I like to leave those posts up, so the next person with the same need can see the solution, source of parts, etc.

Even though an issue is solved, it's good reading for those with the same issues. That's why we save the messages.

QuotePaul Cook in Kempner, TX It's 104 degrees and I've been working outside to replace the window AC in the Kempner Power Wagon Museum office. I am on a break trying to cool off. My brain may be fried and I am wondering - did I miss something? I wouldn't change the rear axle ratio in a four-wheel-drive without changing the front ratio to match. Good catch Paul! I complete

Your mechanic was most likely referring to swapping out the ring and pinon for a taller (lower numerically) gear ratio. The rear end in these trucks are bullet proof and no less modern than the brand new ones, with a few notable changes over the years. Brakes: Drums vs. Discs Spline Count: The Sweptline Era trucks had axles with 17, 19 and 23 splines on the axle ends. Modern axles are 30 an

Summer doldrums? Economy, weather, etc.? Are you going to blast the entire body? That's a good way to go and it saves countless hours of prep.

Just an FYI and I'm not sure if they are interchangeable, but the 1980's CJ had a 10 spline 10" clutch and I use the same clutch insertion tool for both those Jeeps and early Dodges, so the clutch disk might be interchangeable and the Jeep clutches are still available...just in case anyone gets into a bind trying to find a 10 spline clutch disc.

The Truck of The Week belongs to Rob's Dad, Doug. It's a W300 beauty and the Mud Pit at Hollister is about the last place I thought I'd find it! Obviously it makes a great viewing platform.

Its been a while but I want to say that D200 is about 3800 lbs and up to 4300 lbs. It varies depending upon fuel, tank size, window size, if it's undercoated, headliner, tire and wheel size, number of batteries, etc. etc. Loaded up W200's can go as high as 5300 lbs, empty.

The Truck of The Week, is a 1967 W200 Crew that Doug is currently working on, more details can be found in his thread about the transmission conversion. Having just returned from two weeks of camping, this shot struck me and I must say that his rig looks great and ready to go!

Ha! I've been going through the Registry for quite a while, just haven't been getting enough high quality submissions to do it the old way. I went through a few of your trucks and stockpiled several TOTW pictures because I was in the AZ mountains for two weeks and out of cell range. Off topic note; the Cummins Powered Ram in this shot averaged 26.4 mpg for the two weeks...pissed m

QuotePwrWgnDrvr Ive looked at the trans ratio charts in the FSM countless times. Im quite certain there are only 2 options, not 3. Book is not here, so I cant verify. IIRC, granny first is 6.86 as Doug said, and the the high first is 4.56 There were two first gears, however there was a D-1, D-2 and D-3 435 transmission. I have never found a clear explanation from Dodge, however my guess for the

QuotePwrWgnDrvr I have more than 30 trucks, have parted more than 50 and have owned them since the 70's. I have NEVER seen one of those that worked. They are ALL rusted and jammed tight. I take them out and plug the holes. I saw ONE, that's the only reason I had a clue how they worked...ha! ha! Routine maintenance and replacement kept them going, but few mechanics or owners did eithe

The Truck of The Week was submitted by Terry, #12 in the Registry. It's not the usual D500, it's a 1969 D400! Equipped with dump bed and looking, at the time of the photo, to be ready to go.
