The issue now is I already have an aluminum adapter to take it from a square bore to a spread bore. I'm afraid of getting the carb to high up, hood won't close and my kick down cable won't reach. If I could find a phenolic adapter instead of a spacer, that would work.

It did it after sitting awhile. Someone told me that heat from the engine rises up and causing the fuel to heat up and perculate. I would have no idea how to check if the needle and seat not sealing in the carb. Two different carbs, same problem though.

Even with the Edelbrock on now, I'm getting gas in my oil still. I ran the truck for about 30 minutes Saturday. Shut it off, pulled the dipstick, oil smelled fine. Few hours later now that the truck is cooling off, pulled it again then I smelled gas in the oil. Someone told me I need a heat shield for the carb. Have any you had this happen? Its one of those high rise intakes.

The thermostats are made in New England somewhere. Everything else is made in Connersville, Indiana or Pine Bluff, Arkansas or in Mexico. I thought I would share with you the inferior components that Stant makes. At one time they made a good quality product. Not anymore. The thermostat in my swepty, brand new engine. Kept hitting 220 degrees and climbing. Switched the thermostat, bam 180 degrees. New thermostat is a Robert Shaw. My Ram, oil filler cap, broke off in the valve cover, had to chisel it out.
