The Editing feature is only available to registered users. Your messages can be edited at anytime, even years later. Another "feature" that I haven't turned on is Track Edit Changes. You can guess what that means, ha ha. There are 2 options: 1) track and allow edit changes to be viewed by all users or 2) track and allow edit changes to be viewed by moderators only.

I just changed the layout to board style or as Phorum calls it "flat" style with "threaded" option when reading a topic. The number of topics displayed on one page is configurable, by default it is set to 15 topics in threaded mode, and 30 topics in flat mode. Right now there are basically no limits to picture sizes and most of the pics I uploaded were very large. There are picture sizing settings that can be tweaked. Consensus on size? 640x480? 800x600? Max byte size is 9.6M which is huge also.

Regarding the movement of messages to the top of the screen. By default we have it set so when a reply is made to a post the entire thread is moved to the top. Can easily be changed, it's just a feature setting, thoughts?

I changed the "visited link" (technical term for read messages) color to an off-red color, more maroon actually, it's the same color used on Joe's forum to designate "read" messages. Phorum also has the more reliable "new" flag for registered users. But at least unregistered users will be able to keep track of the messages they read.

In my browser, Firefox, the links are all blue all the time. The only indication that a message is not read is the red new flag.
