On my early 65 318 the engine date is stampped just below the head on the driver side, facing the radiator. It reads 318 8 64 (i believe) Casting # is on the opposite side.

Using a magnyfing glass look at the point where the hub and blade meet. Look for rust on the outer edge(starting point) and go toward the center hub. At the hub the metal should be shiny, indicating a flexing over a long period ot time.( check the other blades also) Thats why they made fan shrouds. Try a "reverse email lookup" or put he/she/it on your block list We had one by Scott said he was in France and was moving to this area and was looking for information. Ran a reverse lookup and it came back Sunnyvale,Ca, Didn't answer.

Last night (Tuesday) on KFI the host mentioned Ford Focus has a Turbo diesel in another country that gets nearly 70 mpg. Might be availabe here in 2010.Maybe "John in England" could help with more facts. Years ago I saw a statement on TV that said VW holds the record for gas milage at 263 m/gal.

Don't know what part on the country your in but here in So. Cal prices haven't dropped BELOW $2.00/gal. They probable wanted all that money from the contractor that RIPPED OUT thoes NEW houses. Ha-Ha
