A friend has a 1968 D100 with Slant 6, 3 on the column and he was thinking about swapping in a 318. Would the tranny from the Slant 6 bolt right up? Do the A and LA 318's have the same bolt up pattern? What extra parts would be needed to swap it in. I haven't ever dealt with those transmi

Yes, input shaft as in bearing retainer. 2 different bells, 2 different bearing retainer hole sizes. Bellhousing bolt pattern is the same, except for maybe one bolt on some of them, least that's what I recall.
