I have a 66 W300. The truck sat for a long time before coming back to life. The motor was running fine, but with a noisey lifter. Now it starts and idles but when you step on the gas it bogs, sometimes spits in the carb or the exhaust. New plugs points wires cap roter and adjustments are good. Oil

only the poly 318-1 had solid. the 318-2 and -3 had hyd. lifters. you could get any of those 3 engines in any dodge truck back in those days.
like the others guys said probably carb or dwell. do you have dwell meter? setting points by feeler gauge or match book only is never really close. sometimes we get lucky adn its spot on first try. but I always check with dwell meter. points can last 30K miles easy if set right.

isthe valve cover sticker still on it? if it says "Premium 318" its a 318-2 or 3
