I have a 66 W300. The truck sat for a long time before coming back to life. The motor was running fine, but with a noisey lifter. Now it starts and idles but when you step on the gas it bogs, sometimes spits in the carb or the exhaust. New plugs points wires cap roter and adjustments are good. Oil

no it shouldn't necesarily have solid lifters. we have seen many 100-300 trucks on these forums that have A318-2s and A318-3s. they were not only in medium duty trucks. perfectly acceptable to have come from factory with hydrualic lifters. If you go through the registry and look at data tags you can find them sometimes.

Does the valve cover say "Premium 318"
