1965 D100 "w" one plug alternator and box style voltage regulator.


Ok,.. The alternator tests fine. The voltage regulator is new.

Here is likely the problem,.. I have zero voltage from key to the V R spade where voltage from key switch wire screws onto the V R box.

So I could shag it, chase it down IF,.. if I had better eyesight and a little less Arthritis I would probably find it at thru-wall or elsewhere. However,...

So, my alternative thought was to tap in a new wire from switch to box,.. But,.... I worried that 12 volts may be too much voltage,?

Does anyone know if that voltage is stepped down to say 6 volts plus or minus.??

And, ,. for that matter where to tie it into so it is with key,.. Gordo
