1965 D100 "w" one plug alternator and box style voltage regulator. Ok,.. The alternator tests fine. The voltage regulator is new. Here is likely the problem,.. I have zero voltage from key to the V R spade where voltage from key switch wire screws onto the V R box. So I could shag it, cha

Thanks, but things are wired correctly. As mentioned, 2 other friends had the same, as in identical problem.

I've been working on Mopar electrical for over 40 years now, and was a Commercial/Industrial Electrician by trade for as many years. Hobby wise I've specialized in 12V vehicle electric and custom hot rod wiring and building custom wire looms for a very long time. Things are wired correctly and the situation is as explained, regardless of whether it makes any sense or not.

I got to liking the pushbuttons instead of convential switches so I left it as is. I'm really not physically up to going out and tracing the electrical circuits right now to explain in precise detail how it's wired, sorry.
