It looks like I will be putting a 440 where there was a 383 in a 1968 sweptline 727. So here is what i have waiting,.... A 1968 440 which has all accesories and is very complete. BTW (From a marine application) The replacement 440 has no exhaust manifolds. Complete even to the point of including al

Ah, my friend, beware of marine engines. In my experience Chrysler marine engines are reverse rotation. Look on the raised pad at the left front of the block, (where 440 stamp should be). If it is stamped "CCW" (for counter-clockwise) or something like that, it means the crank turns in the opposite direction of motor vehicle application engines.

A friend told me that I would need to change the cam and related components to retrofit the block in order to mount it in a vehicle.

Anybody else out there know anything more?
