Terry is correct, both engines are 90 degree motors and the cranks are interchangeable. You maybe correct on the 100 and 200 series balancer issue, but there should be no reason not to put a harmonic balancer on the engine.
Actually, on a internally balanced motor, it's not a balancer as it would be on an externally balanced motor. It's a Harmonic Damper it's purpose is to absorb harmonic vibrations in the crankshaft, but it is commonly called a Harmonic Balancer.....but it really has nothing to do with the balancing of the crankshaft.
