I didn`t say guilty, just that the cop was correct that you were not wearing them. But if you are exempt then why did you do them up? Now if I were the judge I would see that as a bad thing. You must have thought you were guilty to have made such a sneaky deceptive move on this hard working young officer doing his best to serve and protect.
Relax Jimmie just funnin with ya
No George, that's not the deal here. I knew from the start that my truck was exempt from seatbelt law [I was unsure of exactly what year that exemption starts at]. I knew that some law enforcement are pinheads. I knew that because of inept mismanagement the entire state is bankrupt. Therefore they are out in record numbers harvesting the streets for revenue, any way they can get it.
So, when I see the cop flip a u-turn and do the high speed pursuit I click my seatbelt on, just so I won't have to explain things or argue with him about the exemption. But he has a bad attitude and cites me for no belt. I wasn't cited for speeding, because I was polite and kept my mouth shut.
It's NEVER good to get in an argument with a cop at the time of the citation, because what could have been a warning can soon turn into a citation and then into a whole bunch of those and then into getting yanked out of the vehicle, slammed up against the side of the cruiser, pat frisked hard, cuffed and away you go for a while.
Court is the place to argue.
