Back about 18 months or so ago, I asked about window wipes for the door glass on my 71 D300. I did order two pair and finally got around to fitting them, since there isn't a lot I can do under present conditions. I removed what was left of the outside , original wipe without scratching the pain

Back about 18 months or so ago, I asked about window wipes for the door glass on my 71 D300. I did order two pair and finally got around to fitting them, since there isn't a lot I can do under present conditions. I removed what was left of the outside , original wipe without scratching the paint or worse yet, breaking the window glass. I need some trick, magic what way to fit the new ones. I am not about the take the top of the door off, etc.. It is the front three clips that are the problem --even with the glass cranked all the way down, the darn glass is in the way.Because the glass just clears the door edge in the rear, those clips will just push on. ANY ideas, help, etc. thanks
