We're in a small town, all we got is NAPA. On both these trucks I actually supplied NAPA with the part #, because NAPA filters were already in place (with those part numbers), so who knows how long they've both been running like that, sucking dust!!!
I'm a stickler on maintenance, so this really makes me hopping mad!
Interestingly enough, the D300, running an air filter that didn't fit right, just had it's engine rebuilt at 97,000 original... and my '64 D200 had to have it's engine rebuilt a dozen years or so ago by the original owners (who caught worms/nightcrawlers at night to play for it). That p'up only has 131,000 on it, so something don't add up in both cases, I've seen wideblocks that were pushing 300,000 that were still running just fine.
Thx NAPA... Maybe they're secretly working with the new "clunker" program to get these nasty ol trucks off the road ;-(
