A local NAPA store may carry several different product lines. On air filters it's good to stick with NAPA Gold, as they're made by WIX and are of fine quality.
Also good to do your homework before taking a parts trip, having measurements & specifications ready when you get there so you know exactly what you want. Napa has a very extensive database that often lists an incredible amount of information on a given part, far beyond simple measurements. This isn't available to us at the online NAPA website but they have it in the stores.
At my local NAPA store there's 3 excellent, topnotch parts men, another one bordering on useless, and one that couldn't find a pair of socks that match.
There's a trick you can use on a really critical part, say maybe a fuel pump for a '65 383. Once he looks it up and pulls one tell him, "Ya know, I might have said this is for a '66 383, but I need one for a '65. Will this fit '65's too?" Then he looks it up again and verifies the application again. That has saved me a couple of times and the parts guy isn't offended & doesn't know the difference.
