He has voltage to the coil so that rules out the ballast or fuseable links.
I would first use the starting fluid to determine if it's a fuel or fire problem. You can do that without getting your hands dirty, LOL. Just be sure you spray it and stand back before you try to start it or you might create a fire problem of a different nature.
BTW, Jim, is it a four or five pin ECU?
