Ya, it has been griped about a lot here as well. The fact of the matter is, those who are griping lack an understanding of electronics and electricity. A fried ammeter is not the "cause" of the problem, but rather a "symptom". Short the circuit somewhere or connect more load to it than the ammeter is rated for, and it will burn up. Not the fault of the ammeter, but the fault of the dumbass who tried to draw more amps thru the circuit than it was designed for.
Its no different than trying to connect a toaster, hair dryer and microwave all on one circuit in your house. If u bypass the circuit breaker, the wire will be overloaded, heatup, catch fire and burn the house down. Seems to be a common problem in southern mobile homes.
