Teh 62 D300 with poly runs great but in the last few days when you drive somewhere get out to run in the store quickly, come back out, it wont start for 10 or fifteen minutes? coil not gettting hot, ballast resistor not gettting hot. dont think I have any vapor lock in this weather? but the flange

I went and swapped out the coil and ballast resistor as I had a brand new resistor sitting around. still would not run after warmed up!! was defintley not getting spark. so obviously I head to the distributor as all wiring is sound. pull cap, pull rotor, crank over and the points are not moving! This distributor is NOS and has less than 3 K on it. I went to loosen the screw to free up the points and the screw was WAAAAYY too tight. I think it was so tight it was distorting the points and when they got hot bound up and would not close. been on 2 test drives and no problems. anyone need a brand new coil and ballast resistor? bang head
