Alternator works. Had it checked. Main black wire to alternator is hot. Orange wire to alternator is hot with key on. Truck appears to be grounded. Its a 1970 Dodge sweptline. I converted it to electronic ignition. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/27/2009 11:02AM by garyo.

Hey, Gary, on the Mopar Electronic Ignition system both the ECU ignition control and Electronic Voltage Regulator must have their casing/box connected to clean, bare metal ground. Sometimes a jumper wire is even needed. Also must have an engine to chassis ground strap, clean bare metal connection. If components like regulator or control box are attached to inner fender panel you may have to run a grounding wire from fender panel to firewall, to get continuity to engine-to-firewall ground.
