Alternator works. Had it checked. Main black wire to alternator is hot. Orange wire to alternator is hot with key on. Truck appears to be grounded. Its a 1970 Dodge sweptline. I converted it to electronic ignition. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/27/2009 11:02AM by garyo.

I'd full-field the alternator, check it's maximum output. Of course a really bad battery will prevent charging, as will corrosion under coating on battery cables. Peel back a little insulation right next to battery lugs & looks for green or white residue. A soak of WD40 will help but only very temporary.
