Britt. I don't want hard feelings between us. I would like you to buy this thing back, but ultimately it's up to you. At least be more cautious about your statements on what will fit and what you are selling. I saved every email between us on this pto deal in a file in my computer. And I have re-read them several times. You never said you got it off a Dodge trans. You said you got it from a truck repair shop. You said you bought it as a spare for your W500 and you were 90% sure it would fit. That led me to believe you might honor that statement and buy it back if it didn't fit. I see now that I should have requested that sort of an arrangement. I have searched extensively for a way to switch the gears, with no success. It seems there is no way of finding out what it will fit, other than holding it up against the drive gears on a transmission and find out. After I learned it would not work, your comment was that it "looked the same as the one mounted on your truck". Is that how you determined a 90% chance that it would fit? As you said "it seems to amaze many people still to this day that different gears were used in different transmissions." This is precisely the problem. Before you say you are 90% sure something will fit, you probably ought to check to see. Otherwise, say: "if it doesn't work, send it back". I would gladly have paid the postage to find out.
