Here is the deal on the NP 540 5 speed, to run the front mounted winch you have to have the spacer also called adapter from the factory to get the winch away from the crossmember, the adapter spaces the correct pto box away from the transmssion, the adapter/spacer gears must match the np540, then the correct muncie pto bolts on to the adapter and gives you the right match up and spacing to run the front winch. I made a mistake and requested info from the factory for the adapter and i should have requested left side pto, apartently the left side adapter and spacer is available new and I am waiting on the factory rep i just emailed today to reply with the info for the left side, please pray that he can find the adapter and pto i need for the W500. I have an adapter for a NP 435 and pto for sale ot trade if anybody is looking for one, i found a nos np540 and assumed the adapter off of it would work from the 435, no such luck, it requires another special bastard adapter and pto specifically for the np540 to drive off of the left side. I am still looking for hubs and pay cash if you have a set you want to sell email me please, am in texas, BNC, refund the money, the part is not correct, do you have a 4 speed or 5 speed in your W500?
