Exhaust valves yes, if driven a lot, otherwise it's more important to not mess around with the factory valve rotators.
Currently it's more critical to use an oil with ZDDP added or a ZDDP additive.
Flat tappet cams are quickly being ruined by using the latest synthetic and zinc-less oils that were mandated in the last two years.
Don't use regular oil in cars with flat tappet cams or you are in for some grief.
THAT includes the "I use diesel oil MYTH". New diesel oil must meet the new zinc-less C-4 regulations and has no more lubricity for flat tapper cams than the EPA approved oil for gasoline.
Valvoline Racing has ZDDP added, but some do like racing oils for long term protection. I've used it for 45 years without issue, but a disclaimer, I change my oil every 3-4,000 miles.
