I loved my MSD 6 until I blew it up, but another vote here for Mopar Electronic! With super good grounds it's reliable as a chunk of pig iron and plenty of fire up to 7,000 for sure.
MSD blew because the old MSD instruction sheets never mentioned having to remove the ballast resistor! Noticeably stronger and much faster starting with MSD though.
Another thing: I sure was happy with the starting when I upgraded to about 1/0 [1 aught] wire for the starter, running via relay for full battery voltage. Wire used for MIG ground cable works GREAT! Never had to replace that starter. The heavier circuit running from alternator to battery really helps charge current a bunch too, like at least 6 ga. there.
I also prefer to set up my lights and heavy current draw stuff on relays; quick, cheap & easy, just like those girls I used to run with...
