Whilst the engine is out and I'm waiting on the torque converter too arrive from the USA ( DON'T ASK WHAT ITS COSTING) I decided to change the sump gasket and fi

Hi Chaps Heres what I did on my 69 w200, I used an angle grinder and cut a three sided hole and bent it out each side just large enought to get my hand in.Then I cleaned all the crap out and painted it with Hammerite plasticote type paint. Then I used a skeleton gun and a tube of silicone at the lowest point and filled it to where water would run straight out the holes, then I bent the three sid

Hi Chaps I'v always been one of those people that dont read instructions. I tend to cut corners, remove the guards on angle grinders, I dont wear protective eye shields, I hold pieces of metal while I drill them instead of clamping in a vice. you get the general idea! well I just got out of the hospital wednesday I was using a circular saw on which the guard has always been stiff,

The serial number is on the plate in the pix but its kinda hard to see. Its.E25BB0S127645 The Date of delivery is November 1969 So if it is a 1970 how can it be delivered in 1969, I have had it explained before how the American system is later However if I get the truck delivered to me in time for christmas 1969 then I figure its a 1969 truck but then Im English and that would be the way we do

I got a rebuild kit from EBay and did the job myself, Really easy job I even changed the ball bearings I scourced them from a bearing company over here in England they cost less than $5 the hardest thing was to get the (preload) adjustment correct I guessed at it then fitted it back on the truck and found I had to much slack then just took it up a little. Hi All I have to say that the new style forum is a lot less use friendly Trying to post a pix takes a lot more fooling around in a photo style shop. Even then its not that simple, Also in the old forum you could see the replies to post all listed now you have to click on each reply to see them then you have the problem of getting back to where you started, its probably me doing something wrong.
