My friend (Jeff M) got the truck. Not bad for $500. I gave him the link to this forum, so maybe he'll post a picture and ask ? as well. This is what the truck has: 4.88 gears, with the 3500lb front axle. It might have a sure grip in the rear (not sure) and a 445 tranny and 15,000lbs winch. As mentioned earlier, he needs a SB bellhousing for a 318/360 as well as flywheel. He found a

Of friend of mine is interested in purchasing a 1969 W200 with winch. The truck is missing the 318 and bell housing. How difficult is it to get bell housing for a 1969? Also, he might be interested in getting rid of the winch. It's supposedly complete and original. Any demand for the winches? Any pro/cons with the 69? vs other years. I know it has a mechanical clutch linkage and pro

My coil on my truck is just like the picture Mopar Norm posted. Mine is a 68 w200, which I have owned since 82. I'm sure it's factory and I just noticed my chiltons manual shows a sketch of the clutch assy with the coil in the line by the slave cylinder as well. Mike M

Thanks for all the interesting info. Didn't mean to start a debate about the hydraulic line. I was just curious because the spare line I have (got off a d300 truck in a wrecking yard many years ago) didn't have a loop in it; instead it had a piece of 6" rubber brake line hose and I was wondering if this design was changed for some reason, or if someone modified it later on. Thanks for the input. I bought a bunch of springs, hopefully will get one to work. I hate to admit it, but I took a fluid course (1 years worth about 21 years ago. Hated the course as it was all theoretcial and not much practical stuff. Don't recall learning about loops in lines etc. Maybe I need to go back and re-learn the course! Mm

Thanks MoparNorm I wasn't aware of that. Can someone tell me what size (dia.) and length the slave cylinder spring is? Mine is not correct and will not fit. Appreciate it. Mike M

Thanks for the picture PwrWgnDrvr. That's exactly what I needed. I always had the spring on the outside of the slave cylinder. Never realized it went on the inside. Thanks for the other comments as well. Mike m

Gents, Today I installed a new slave cylinder and I noticed that the spring comes close or is right against the rubber boot on the the slave cylinder. Is this correct? I have the spring attaching at the end of the clutch fork (near the pin joint attaching the slave cylinder rod) and the other end attaches to a bracket that attaches to the lower bolt used to mount the slave cylinder. Also, how

Trey, Thanks for the advice. When done in the past, I've followed what the shop manual says are far as free play adjustment etc. in slave cylinder and pedal. As I recall, the slave should have around 3/16 free play in the push rod with spring off and pedal is 1" as you have stated. Thanks for the tip on cleaning out the line. Mm

Thanks for all the replies. I'm pretty sure I have the correct master clutch cylinder. Mine is engages at different spots each time I drive it due it getting spongy after awhile. Most of the time it engages after the pedal has travelled half way up, but if it starts to get finicky, then it engages right right away. I called NAPA and they'll still honor a free replacement, so I'

Thanks for all the comments. Power Wagon, Thanks for the info. Trey, when I did replace the master cylinder the last time I bought a new slave as well so I had everything new minus the line. All my other vehicles (non Dodge) have a hydraulic clutch set up and this is the only one I've had problems with and they have lasted more than 10 years of use. I thought maybe NAPA had defective p

Thanks for the info. When the first clutch cylinder went out in 1988, I did use a NAPA rebuild kit and had the same results, so I bought a new clutch master cylinder guaranteed for life and have had to exchanged it three 3 times since. No matter how new the unit is, it has always had problems from day one, even back in 1996 or shortly there after. I have always been able to deal with it by push

Almost ever since I've owned my 1968W200 (since 82), the clutch master cylinder has been finicky. What I mean by this, is if I drive my truck in stop and go traffic where I'm constantly shifting after awhile the clutch pedal will suck up air and get a spongy feeling. I've noticed that if I press and depress the clutch petal slow, it won't be as bad. I can usually work aroun

Thanks for the advice. I feel better about it. The axle housing is at a reputable place here in town and I have confidence they know what they're doing. Mike M

All, I was looking to put a large close knuckle dana 44 front axle on my 1968 w200 and the differential shop I took it to for inspection told me that the axle housing is bent. They told me that they can bend it back and that it's no big deal. I'm concerned about alignment (wheel alignment) after they straighten it back etc. I don't have experience with bent axle housings and be
