Thanks for the info. When the first clutch cylinder went out in 1988, I did use a NAPA rebuild kit and had the same results, so I bought a new clutch master cylinder guaranteed for life and have had to exchanged it three 3 times since. No matter how new the unit is, it has always had problems from day one, even back in 1996 or shortly there after. I have always been able to deal with it by pushing the clutch pedal nice and slow are releasing it slow. Sorry about the confusion. Stainless steel sleeves sounds like a good idea. Who are you getting them from?
