why would it need to be a spacer/adapter, why not just a thick chunk of steel that fits in the frame properly that has the proper holes. weld/bolt it in then transfer the holes to the dodge frame.

i wasn't referring to the whole frame section being cut. only the section, with a little extra meat, that the box attached to. it wouldn't be a hard graft, the spacer plates usually push the box closer to the motor, and due to the over all size of the ford box, makes headers real tight if your running a B/RB in your pickup. seems that the graft would free up a little space and be cleane

seems the easy way would be to locate said ford, and plasma cut out that section of frame and the box then graft it into the dodge.

the conversion kit for the 56 ford truck is the exact kit prototech had, minus the custom made backing plate to fit our frames. look up a kit that uses a Toyota steering box in a 56 ford, it will work even better. ask terry he has it on the teal colored 66 shorty. leaves more room and a better steering ratio, once again, a plate would have to be made to convert from that bolt pattern to ours. the

best thing you can do is ditch the power steering and go back to manual. that system isnt that great, parts are hard to find, and most times the slop is in the valve that cant be adjusted out. had 3 trucks that hit my yard with power and sloppy steering and left with tight manual set ups.

i dont know, i have never compared them. i asked a trusted tire guy a while back if it could be done to avoid finding new wheels and i was told no it wont work for that reason. i took him at his word, no reason not to, the dude has been around the block and knew his job. his claim was that there is enough difference in size and design that it would tear the hell out of the bead on the tire try

anyone have any interest in taking this off my hands??? im told its for a 383, but i havent done any research to verify that. its dirty from the 5 years its been sitting in my garage, but it was a well working unit when it was pulled in favor of a mds6al system. not sure what its worth, or if anyone wants to run dual points, but i got it and dont need it. what i do need is a big cap HEI s

what im saying is the lip of a split rim is larger then the lip of a standard rim. if you welded the ring on there, you wouldnt be able to feed a tire onto it due to its size. i know the rims are pretty much the same, but the lip of a split rim is usually taller then a standard rim. you put the tire on the rim, then add the ring on a split rim, so they could make them larger to better maintain th

i didnt think the split rims were designed to have a tire put on over them. if you welded one up the lip would be too big to get a tire on i would think.

anyone ever thought of checking with one of these companies that makes the conversion spacers?? maybe they could make a 1" spacer to convert the lug pattern to a newer 6 lug pattern like what i see on the U.P.S. trucks and such. then rims would be nice and easy to find. i see all types of spacers, we put some on a buddies dodge to be able to run big rig rims on it. i personally thought it lo

did you have it aligned after all the work to the front end? if the alignment is off it will make the truck drive as if it has a sloppy steering no matter how tight the components are.

seen it too many times on mopars and fords. if you know a good welder they can weld it up and resurface the cover for you. but as mentioned, the JB weld holds up pretty good. that's a low stress area, but i have had JB weld repairs come loose and leak. so make sure you got it real clean so the JB bites in and sticks real good. also, make sure its absolutely flush. on one of my fords i wasnt

summit sells some real nice rebuilds that have had the shafts bushed and done way better then the factory ever thought of making them. basically a blueprinted carb. we have one on my dads truck and were very pleased with it.

after thinking about this a bit, it dawned on me that the only truck i ever had this problem with was the one that had new fresh seals. it was also the only truck that would actually warm the cab to a comfortable level in the winter. i think its the nature of the beast, cold window, warm inside cab, and the lack of any type of defroster for the side windows. all the newer cars actually have defro

as far as the weight goes, no problem, but tongue weight will be. i towed a lot of stuff with my 100 with almost the exact setup you have, tongue weight is the only thing that ever got me down. that and the 235 tires i had, make sure your tires are truck 235's and not car tires, when i stepped up to an lt235 it was better, and got even better when i stepped up to a 31x10.5x15 on an 8" w
