Ok, makes sense. I have a mint long bed and was thinking if I cut the skins off and shortened the inner box to make a short bed, I could just replace the quarter skins. I found a pretty nice early rear quarter and a NOS late model skin and was hoping the skins were the same....so, I guess I'll have to find another nice late model skins to do what I want.

What are the differences? I'm talking just the outside skin.

I know the tail sections for the beds are different, because of the tailgates and tail lights. So, my question is are the early and late rear quarters the same other than the welded on tail section?

There was a conversion to use a Ford box. I'm sure someone will know who has them.

You got it Steve, 1976 to 1978 True Spirit by Dodge. True Spirit: The True Spirit was first produced in 1976 with about 200-250 being produced that year. They were a "test the waters" type of vehicle, along with the Warlock, but didn't do as well as the much more popular Warlock, so therefore True Spirits were only sold in the Southern California and Arizona markets. The las

Hi John, I used too, but I got rid of it, too much of a pain with all the junk on it. Why?? RockAuto.com has a rebuilding service for the piston, it's a return and rebuild, $162.79. I looked into shipping my piston to you and it looks like it would be somewhere around $60.00 to $70.00 to ship one.

John, I was just looking on Rockauto.com website and they offer a rebuilding service for the control valve, for around $183.00 it requires you to send your pitman arm to them. So, I don't know what the shipping would be, but it might be worth looking into or calling them...

I don't if the Ford one will work, due to it being an assist piston that goes on the tie-rod. What is your address? I'll check to see what it would cost to ship.

Dodge packaged a Custom - 100 pickup equipped with a utiline or sweptline bed and mounted on a 115 in wheelbase. The truck came with chrome slotted disc wheels, H 70 x 15" white letter tires, carpeting, a front anti sway bar, heavy duty suspension, pin striping, and special decals. What was it called and what years was it produced???

Hi John, I still have my complete setup that came off my D100, it all worked when I took it off the truck. I don't how long it would last or work. I don't even know if they can be rebuilt?? It's been laying around for around 10 yrs now. I would definitely be willing to part with it, I have no use for it on my truck.

591. D500 Info
I've been looking at 68 D500, which needs all new 20" rubber and the brakes gone through. Question one is, are there any wheels that will fit to get rid of the split rims? Question two is, are shoes and wheel cylinders available for these? The truck has remote vacuum booster in the frame. Thanks

John, A 1401 is a direct replacement for a Qaudra-Jet/Spreadbore. The 1405 & 1406 are 600cfm square bore type. If the idle mixture screws aren't working it could be an issue with the idle speed being to high or border-line. Once your throttle plates open to a certian point the idle circuit becomes inactive. Then the main jets take over. It could also be an issue with the main metering

Are all the plugs oil soaked? I agree rings, valve guides, scored cylinder wall, or possible bad pcv can cause oil consumption. After doing a compression test, the only way to pinpoint a problem in a low cylinder would be to do a leak-down test, which would tell exactly where your problem is, short of doing a teardown.

Really, I noticed they really had to recess the firewall too. They should have used the first generation 81-93 chassis instead of the later one. To each his own, should still be a pretty neat crew when done.
