As you guy's all know, unless you want poly type insulators for our trucks. Currently, the only available insulators are NOS. I recently purchased a set of NOS insulators to get my cab properly mounted where it should be to finish fitting my cab, fenders and core support to my chassis. Now that I have a set of new insulators, I'm pretty well set on my project. I'm looking into

Well, they are no longer available through Chrysler, I did find one on e-bay. They were sold as a set for each side under one part number. I'm going to see what it would take to possibly have some repo's made....I'll keep you posted as what I come up with once I receive the NOS ones.

While searching for some rear cab mount insulators, I came across a place called "Collectors Autosupply" advertising NOS insulators for our Dodge trucks. After speaking to a couple of sales people, I was told that they only sell half the insulator. Dodge's part number for these insulators clearly were sold as sets not individual pieces, there is an upper and lower rubber piece. S

Ok, thanks. I have the part number, so I'm going to see if it's still a good number through Chrysler. When you ordered yours did they come as a set or did you have order each half seperatly? I saw that Roberts sells the upper half, but not the lower part. I couldn't make out any part numbers on my old lowers, I could only make out the upper ones and I crossed to my parts manua

Steve, Unfortunately it's pretty much a no go for a Big Block. The A518 is a smallblock only tranny and the internals from the A518 will not go into a BB A727 housing. They are totally different housings even though it is still a 727 the housings have diffences other than the bell. The A518's are the best AOD's Chrysler made, but they were never made to go behind a BB, only small

I know it sounds weak, but it has been proven in short track racing that 2bbl's have better throttle response and make more bottom end power than a 4bbl. I believe it has to do with the fact that a 2bbl carb gives a much denscer fuel/air mixture ratio than a 4bbl. Even though the secondary plates are closed on a 4bbl you are still pulling air through the venturi.............I agree with you

Well, I rebuilt the distributor with all new MP stuff. Put it in, corrected the hard hot starting issues, runs perfect. We also found out that the fuel filter bypass valve was what was killing the motor, not the ignition. Thank God that is fixed now, talk about a PIA..........

I'm wouldn't dispute the numbers posted, but an RB motor with the right cam, carb and intake will definitely out twist an A motor low-end or high end. As far as being efficient the A motor will have it. Keeping in mind those numbers are advertised stock numbers only dyno's and your seat can give you real-time twist power. Also, running a 2bbl on that 413 will also increase twist

I don't see how those racks mounted on the axle can work without bump steer, JMO. If the column shaft was horizontal or perpendicular with the frame it might work, but with the angle they have and the front axle moving up and down, I really don't see how they can be a good set-up. I'll tell you either go the route Norm did with the Ford, Toyota box or clip the frame as I did, are

If it's running fine when hot or at normal operating temp., it's most likely the fact that your running too lean on the carb. If the carb is jetted on the lean side which it sounds like it is, with no choke it will back fire when cold. A lot of times if the carb if jetted too lean it will actually give you misfire syptoms under hard acceleration @ mid range or top end rpms, even when

I believe we have finally narrowed it down to the pickup in the distributor. I'm waiting on some new MP parts to come in. I'm going to rebuild a distributor. I found some problems with the aftermarket rebuilt distributor my brother had bought. I also talked to a old friend of mine who is a chrysler mechanic, he seemed to think it might be the pickup too. Apparently most aftermarket pick
