That will give him rpm and horsepower, but it won't give him more torque, at a lower rpm, which is what a truck needs...

Ideally, in a truck, we would want max torque at 1,000-2,000 rpm.
Now look at the 400B vs. the 318A. The 400 will have more horsepower, but the 318 Poly will "feel" just as strong, with it's power (torque) coming on quicker, at a lower rpm.
