Drag link ends are not replaceable, they are welded to the shaft. There is a company that makes them, I dont recall the name. U can probably find a used set of shoes. Look on the data plate in the door frame for your tranny spec. It will say NP420. The 62 FSM doesn't list a NP435. I dont think they were even made until a couple yrs later. U need a 61 FSM, not a later yr, altho 62/63 are mostly the same. Yes, with the transfer case in 2wd, the engine is not connected to the front end. But, without lockout hubs, the wheels will turn all the front axle gears and shafts when the the truck is moving. It is foolish to put that kind of wear on all those parts, especially the U-jts in the wheel hubs.
