I checked with a local buddy who has more early W300's than me (he has 4, I have 2). He says that there was a Selectro hub made for this axle, but he does not know the number. The later hub mounts with 8 bolts, same as the number of lugs. The early hub has 6 bolts. Is the hub u found available? If so, it could be the right one.
The Warn hub is #M14. I have 3 axles, all with hubs and 1 extra set on the shelf as a backup. I bought a set new in 1984, cost was $120, and there were not many available then. 30 yrs later, that $120 is equal to at least $500 now. I might consider letting my spare set (all are used) go for $350 and the removed plates off your truck.
Wow you guys have multiple w300s. My wife will certainly not want to hear that.
I appreciate the offer on the hubs and might take you up on it if these do not work out.
What is th spline count for these? Are they 23? I'll hopefully open mine and count soon.
