Pulled out of NAPA parking lot into medium traffic, nailed it, got that nice third gear chirp in the Townie 4BT. Safely into traffic, cruising through town, maybe 5-7 over the limit, slowing to cut into the bank. CHP coming in the opposite direction, slowed down & whipped a hard U across 4 lane

Hey, one more thing for all interested:
The CHP that pulled me over later testified in court that I was going 52 mph in a 40 mph zone. He mentioned vehicle speed when he pulled me over too. I was going about 45mph, I immediately looked down to check my speed at the time he passed.
Thing is, he blew off the speeding ticket for the seatbelt citation. I kept my mouth shut. You know for a fact that if I had told him, "No, sir, this vehicle is exempt...." and gave him part of vehicle code to prove it that I would have ended up with a speeding ticket. "Okay, well I'm still going to have to write you for the speeding..."
My suggestion is to remain silent, then make your case in court. Making your case along the roadside may cost you a whole lot more!
