I posted a Poll on this subject for members to vote on. I suspect many are long ago sick & tired of hassles and fights here, I know I am!
Moderators: I need to protest against constant attacks by certain members on virtually anything I post here in the forum. These attacks disrupt the friendly nature of threads, deprive other members from casually reading through informative posts and creates general havoc where a friendly atmosphere formerly prevailed.
It makes it impossible to participate in a normal way as in other forums and causes needless strife, confusion and trashing of thread content. It blows a whole thread off-course and causes the loss of flow of information exchange. It creates a hostile atmosphere which has caused many former members to leave.
I respectfully request that a forum policy be instituted to control member behavior here.
If a person gets out of line or insults & needlessly challenges or attacks another member they receive a poste WARNING of infraction against forum policy. If they repeat then another warning, with a reminder that it's the 2nd warning. If they repeat again, still another warning, with additional reminder of the first 2 warnings. After 3 warnings if a member still chooses to attack or upset the forum atmosphere I believe they should be banned from the forum, at least for a specified time period.
3 warnings is sufficient for even a hard-headed participant to get the message. 3 warnings makes it obvious that the member has made a conscious decision to disrupt the forum. 3 warnings gives ample opportunity for them to learn to have polite manners here on the forum or go elsewhere.
Being banned for a specific time period allows them some time to think it over and maybe change their ways during the interim.
After that if they choose to attack or disrupt again after being reinstated as a member they should be permanently banned.
Without these controls on member behavior we have seens numerous threads explode into insult swapping, including me tossing out some insults. Many threads had to be permanently locked, forever ending information exchange & friendly conversation on critical subjects important to many members now & in the future.
Of course RESPECTFUL disagreement would be permitted so that members can simply state their personal views on a subject, as in 'disagreeing agreeably'. It's not what you say, but how you say it!
I believe this will really help to improve the general forum atmosphere and lower blood pressures across the board. It will allow a return to a friendly forum place to chit-chat, talk about good old Dodge trucks & exchange critical information. Who needs continual chaos?
Thanks....
