Have you thoroughly given up on re-building the 435? It would seem like the quickest, easiest, and certainly the least expensive way to go. The only difference in my NP540 in my W500 and my NP435 in my W300 is an extra low 1st gear. Knowing that, I would never bother to switch to an NP540. Dave Cirillo has all the parts you need for re-building the 435.
