I modified the beat up original bumper that looks to be a dealer built type. Too sloppy original work compared to any mass produced bumpers. problaby all the 9 foot beds had to have cusotm bumpers made as they made so few. I modified it so I could use the stock license plate location with the light

Nice job on the bumper, especially making it so the tailgate will hang plumb. Those tailgates are notoriously weak and thin.
I have wanted to do something like that with my W300, but the dilemma is that the bumper now provides little protection to the back of the truck. Although your truck and my W300 are probably high enough that most others are going under it.ha ha
