Hi guys!

Been working on a MTD garden tractor, fixing it up to cut the weeds here for fire season. Just a couple of things left to do until I discovered the polyethylene fuel tank is split down the side! I priced a replacement & with shipping they're like $50, NO WAY!

Have any of you had any luck with welding plastic? I've got a big old 120 volt electric soldering iron, very high watts, thinking about using that to try to weld it up, using water jug plastic as a filler. Tank is about 1/4 thick wall sections so I'm sure it will be a challenge.

Any ideas or suggestions?
