hey jimmie, i have tryed welding plastic before, they even sell a kit for it. fact is unless the filler is the same plastic as the item being repaired it wont mesh. also learned that welding a patch over a crack lasts better then trying to weld the crack itself. best bet is $50 aint that much for the safety of the new tank, good callthumbs up
