Thanks Mark, let's see what comes off but don't see a washer on either side right now. The "Seal" must be what everyone else is calling a "slinger". I need to find a shop manual on this truck but have not located one just yet.

1966 Dodge D100, 225 slant six, 4 spd. It has an 8 3/4 sure grip, 3:91 gears.

So I know how to get it off and press the new one on but new question is how does the new one go on (orientation?) and where does the slinger go? The one on there has the large slinger to the rear end and it was just dangling on the splines like a wind chime. I doubt that was right. I believe it goes to the front which is pressed on ahead of the bearing. There is also a collar that came with t

Thank you Mark. It's pretty rusty so needed to know if it was pressed on before it took a beating. Now I know what I needs to be done.

This is probably a simple thing but how do you remove the carrier bearing from the drive shaft? I have the drive shaft out but the carrier seems to be rusted on or pressed on? I have never changed one of these before. The housing is coming off the rubber, old and weathered and the covers (slingers?) are loose. What do the slingers do anyway?........keep out debris? Thanks....Alan.

Okay, I have looked through the archives and have some information but I need confirmation on the size of the wooden bed blocks used under the 66-71 beds.........others probably the same but I know these beds are. Does anyone have the dimensions I can use to cut new blocks? Thanks.......Alan.

Thanks all for the input. I have researched this enough to believe it is a factory (or service shop) adjustment and not damage of any sort. A unique conversation piece.

Thanks guys, my planned measurements were within about 1/2" so looks like we are thinking in line. Hopefully this helps others out too. I will post photos when I make mine.

Good stuff guys thanks. Looking at something very similar. What is the overall height of the truck cab and bed dollies you used?

Anyone here made a truck bed dolly to move a long box around on? I think I can make one but just seeing if anyone has a good economical idea on it or has the plans for one. Sooner or later I will need a cab dolly too. Thanks.

I only have photos from the outside right now and I suspect the cab and hood are from other years. I am getting more photos so have to wait and see.

I recently looked at a 1966 D200 Power Wagon but the doors had the push button handles and the hood did not look like a D100/D200 2-wheel drive model. The VIN checks out as a 1966 D200 Power Wagon but I thought the doors from 1966 earlier were ALL the refrigerator style? Are Power Wagons an exception? The hood is different also. Thanks.

Hey sorry Jakas66, thought I posted this by itself but somehow I got it on your thread. Anyway that last post by txas2step looks exactly like mine. It is weird but has to either be an adjustment or an irregularity. I did post this separately today since finding this. Happy New Year.

Has anyone seen this on their trucks before? I don't think it hurts anything but looks to be a factory irregularity in the forging/forming process. Thanks.

Anyone seen this before? It appears to be a factory irregularity in forging the beam and not from any impact or towing. Was this a common occurrence?

Sounds good. I scored an almost perfect tailgate last weekend through connections of other parts. I consider this the crowning jewel piece of about any of these old Dodges........first part to get destroyed on most. I am in search of a good long bed now. '66-70.

Thanks Gordo, I will definitely need that door replaced for sure but first I need to run down a couple leads on a few local whole trucks for parts. Any idea how much would it cost to ship that to Omaha, NE without damaging it? What other parts you got? PM me please.

Need some help from you experts out there. Looking to piece together a truck I found with better body parts from other ones. I found the 66 D100 I wanted but it needs a lot in the body department. I know the door handles are only from 65 ½ -66 (refrigerator style) so I know I have to find those years. I am in good shape with the dash, seat, and most of the mechanical items. What years of

Hi John, thanks for the nod again. However, this truck has been on craigslist for a very long time. It has modifications that I would not want to deal with unless I did them myself. "HAVE MOTOR, AND TRAN CAR 4SPD, RUNS GREAT , PULLED MOTOR TO SUB IN 90 DODGE FRONT CLIP" I have some history on this subject. I will continue to keep looking and hold out for an original setup.

OK, here is what I found out about DMV in Nebraska. They seem to purge information randomly and with no pattern. Having a license plate number will get you nowhere. You have to have a VIN to locate anything with them, that is how their records are sorted. They show about 9 records of the vehicles I have owned, it is more like 20+ and none about my truck. They still showed my dad (now 81) as

I wish there was but we just went through all of his stuff in his house for other reasons and I know there isn't anything there. I've been doing some research and called the DMV. I do have a clear photo of the license plate and if I bring my dad down there (as the titled owner) they can look it up from there. I will keep you posted on how this goes. Another way was to call the in

Good info, thanks! Seeing how I sold this rig over 30 years ago and I have no records on it, we will never know the real answer to the validation of the year to the VIN, however, it was titled as a 1966 and was only known as that, so that is my quest. I have decoded a few trucks lately to understand the VIN info but was unaware of serial stampings on anything but the tags. So, back to

Well, I did not know the VINs were stamped anywhere on these trucks other than the ID Tag, so you already answered the question. This is the reason and benefit to being in this forum with guys like yourself that have specific knowledge on these trucks. Do you know where it is stamped at on the frame? I assume the D100 have their frames stamped too? Better yet, what else is stamped with the VI

Thanks guys, this will help in my search. The frame was my biggest concern, the rest is easily converted.
