yes fenders are the same 61-71 and there are only 2 core supports: 61-65.5 and 65.5-71

That did it Phil, tnx. I have my browser set to automatically check for page updates at every visit to a page. Do u know why the old link was still showing, when I have rebooted/shutdown countless times? There is another website I visit regularly and its updates don't show either. Yet everything else, such as the forums, update automatically.

If u click on the words "Dodge Sweptline Truck Registry 1793 trucks registered", which is directly to the left of the last truck registered pic at the top of this page, it goes to the link www.sweptlineregistry.com which is wrong!

The 63 core support is for 4 headlights. The pie plate grill will not work with it.

Refr handles are the only style that will fit a cab from 61-66. Ya, they wear out and nobody makes them. Why do u mention a 63 truck, then 65-67 and 69? Your posts are very confusing to decipher. U need to use the proper terms for the various parts and use proper punctuation.

Quotemoparman8 Im talking single style with the huge trim rings and center grill. That grill will only fit 65.5 - 67. It will bolt onto 68-71, but the hood will crush the top of the rings.

Maybe more spring force will take up wear in the pivot. I have no idea on how to go about doing that. If its weaker than new, buy a used one that isn't. If there is wear in the pivot, rebuild it.

Its not the springs, its the worn hinge as I said above. If it were the springs, then that play when u push down would be normal. Its not. When the hood is all the way up, there is almost no load on the springs and they come off without much effort and no danger. Don't know of anyone who has ever needed or sourced new springs. I doubt they are to be found.

Longer bolt! But, u will reach a limit on how far it will adjust before it starts to distort (bend) the hood. This is caused by the pivot pin holes in the hinge enlarging due to wear.

I have several 445's, all are behind big blocks (383) in regular trucks, NONE are remote control and remote control is NOT shown in the FSM's.

They are tapered top to bottom, not square. Somewhere there is a drawing. Search the other forum, and/or ask Ben (cssregistry)

Seems plausible that most axles would need to be dialed in to the correct spec after forging. Would be rash to assume they come out of the forge precisely formed.

Seems like the "dimple" would be where the 2 jaws of a hydraulic clamping tool bite onto the axle to hold it in place while bending. It aint like u can just bend it over your knee...

Per, it applies the electric brakes on a trailer. It has nothing to do with the truck itself. Take it off and throw it away.

Early trucks didnt have much in the way of fuses, if any at all. There are numerous points in that circuit where the connection may be bad, or bad parts as in switch or motor burned out. Find somebody local that understands electricity and wiring to help u troubleshoot it. My 62 manual doesn't even show the heater in the wiring diagram.

Follow the wire from the heater box, to the switch, then to the fuse panel, if u even have one. Some yrs don't. U can also run a jumper wire from +12 to the heater and see if it even works. Or use a test light to see if there is power at the heater. If the fuse is blown, there is a reason for that and u need to fix the problem that blew it.

The early 61-66 cab sheetmetal is formed different than 67-68 where the strikers attach. Not so simple to put the wrong doors on a cab. 1 ton and larger trucks have a totally different floor pan, not just the cover.

There is a large oops in John's post. The cab with refr doors is 61 to 66 only. 67/68 are different. All 100/200 cabs are the same within the years. 300+ cabs have a different floor

Maybe there is an old scrap of paper buried at your dad's with the vin on it. Other than that, I know of no way to find out.

The vin only has 4 things defined: model (100-800) series (D,W etc) engine (6 cyl, 8 cyl) plant where built year is determined by the sequential build number and u have to compare it to a reference list that indicates starting serial number for each yr. A few other details are listed on the data plate, but are not part of the vin. The vin is typically on the side of the right frame rai

The vin is different and it is also stamped into the frame. Since the only difference between a late 65 and a 66 is the sequential build number of the vin, why would a 100 to 200 conversion with a wrong vin meet your goal, but not a 65 with a wrong vin that is otherwise identical?

The axles are also different, not just the hubs.
