I had the distinct pleasure of swapping one of my forged poly cranks into one of my LA's. Piece of cake and no issues whatsoever!

BOTH POLY (A) and LA ENGINES ARE 90 DEGREE ENGINES! The only difference in cranks is that poly cranks are forged and LA are cast and they will interchange without modification.

The 19.5 single wheel rims I had on my 62 W300 are solid rims. They are the only size I know of that are solid. Won't work for duallies. Old chitty 10 lug rims are the same lug circle dia. Therefore, 2 holes matched the W300 and I drilled 4 more to make them fit. I may have torched the center hole a 1/4" or so to get over the hub. That was way over 20 yrs ago. See of u can find a solid

If u think about the rotation, and the forces, u realize the crank pulls down on the water pump pulley first and the alternator, which is behind it, puts additional lateral force on the water pump shaft which becomes a fulcrum between the crank and the alternator. Just rig it up, drive it til it breaks, fix it and do something else.

Yes and I don't know, but it seems like it would work.

A and LA use same crank and timing cover, no problem to interchange parts

All polys I currently own, or have ever seen, excepting one in a 63 D100, have harmonic dampers. If u can't find a pulley that nests inside yours, seems it would be simple to add a harmonic damper with associated pulleys.

Ive never seen a plate like that. The several Ive found in doors were 1/4" steel, with a slight curve. Threading the holes in 1/4" plate would be no different in strength than a welded on nut, but a lot easier than welding the nuts.

QuoteBlownWagon ...why not put the insert/captive nuts in these inner curved plates?..... Seems attaching the nuts to the plate would be a lot more hassle and time consuming than simply threading the 3 holes that have to be drilled in it regardless. The driver door comes from the factory with the nuts already in place, so no plate is needed on that side. The original screws also rusted, unles

FYI, the left door has captive nuts for the mounting bolts. The right door uses a triangular 1/4" steel plate, drilled and tapped, inside the door. They're a bitch to hold in place while u start the bolts and are often found lying in the bottom of the door. Many right mirrors added post factory were mounted with big sheetmetal screws, which is incorrect. Anyone adding a right mirror to

300-800 cabs all identical. 100-800 doors, hoods, core support, grills all identical. Only fenders are different, but all will bolt up to any cab, 100-800.

They are 3/8 coarse. The threads in the holes are rusty and that is why u can't get them to go in all the way. Run a 3/8 tap in the hole to clean the threads and it will work just fine. I went to a commercial fastener shop and obtained stainless steel, flat head, internal hex bolts. Install them with anti-seize compound and they will never be a problem to get out. Cheap folks just coat th

The grill u have is a 70/71 grill. 68/69 has the vertical parking lights. There is something wrong with your hood release, as all 4 of those yrs do not require fingers to go thru that narrow space. 68/69 is opened by a lever that hangs down and is accessed thru the large grill opening.

This is the 2nd of 3 known Ute CSS trucks. The previous owner customized it with a 440, 727 trans shifted from a console between the seats, chrome wheels and wide tires. It was shown in the Sacramento, Ca area. It has been garaged since the day the video was made in 2010 and driven less than 100 miles. Asking $6500 I do not have any other pics at the moment and the garage is 110 miles away.

8x19.5 wheels and tires (stock option, hard to find!) Custom made 20" dually wheels with 7.50x20 tires. I made my own out of 50's chevy truck split rims with 10 lug pattern on same circle as the 61-68 6 lug 300's, torched out the center hole to fit. Have hit 103 mph with the 4.88 rear gear in the W300. The 5 speed trannies from that vintage are almost all direct drive 1:1 in 5th.

Just went to the DTA Home page and the picture link there was still showing the old one. Had to refresh THAT page too! Stupid thing is, I haven't been to that page in YEARS, if ever. Went to the links page, and the link there is correct.
